Jet lag in Japan

My flight from Chicago to Tokyo, Japan was about 14 hours. Thankfully I had great company! I was sitting next to this four-year-old and her mother, a Vietnamese family from Michigan. They were both so nice and made the time to faster. (Along with the four movies I watched.) The young one in the picture is so smart and the most well-traveled kid I’ve ever met!

Next Stop: JAPAN

I was only in Japan for about four hours, but I made good use of my time. To start off, I looked at maps of the airport. After realizing my flight wasn’t shown on the board yet, I knew I had some time to kill. Something on the map said “day rooms for naps and showers.“ I thought hmm I could use a nap and a shower lol so I went on my way to find one.

The airport is huge so of course I got lost. Thankfully, they have many screens that allow you to look up where you want to go in the airport and show the direct route, with the option of even printing it out. I eventually found the day rooms and it was only $14 USD for an hour! So worth it. The front desk gave me complimentary water and the key to my room! I then was able to stretch out, shower, blow dry my hair and take a nap in a BED! This was just what I needed, I came out feeling so refreshed. I’m not sure if other airports offer this or if they are usually more expensive but I will be on the lookout.

While in Tokyo, I also got some sushi! I just got the California roll and honestly it tasted exactly how it does in Ohio, which was slightly disappointing.
