Today was EXHAUSTING but all in all amazing. It felt like a typical “backpacking through Europe” experience. We were in Sirolo and Conero, hiking the mountains. There is a military base at the top that was used secretly during the Cold War. It is still in use for other purposes, but people are now allowed to walk by it, which we did. We did a lot of hiking through woods, rock and near lots of water. It was gorgeous despite the windy day. We then ate at a pizzeria at a nearby shopping mall and had some gelato, of course.
